This probably won't mean much to you, but The Elder Scrolls V is in early development and should be out around 2011 (they'll announce 2010, but don't be fooled - it's probably a ruse to artificially inflate their share prices to make a quick buck). Anyway - although ES IV was beautifully easy to play, making ES III feel like an FPS crossed with an awkward set of spreadsheets, it was actually pretty dull without mods. (With mods, it was awesome.)
Anyway - with any joy, the developers are all eagerly awaiting my awesome input and ideas so they can implement them into the next game and boost sales by over 9000.
- Disable 'fast travel', at least until you get a horse. Bring back the mages teleportation network and ferries etc. In IV It was far too tempting and easy to just teleport between dungeons and the market district to sell your loot; I'd like more forced exploration.
- Disable refraction on the Chameleon effect, replace with fading. Looks much better and makes more sense.
- Subdivide the inventory a bit more so you don't have to scroll for 5 minutes just to select your torch, Put keys - which you NEVER need to see - at the bottom of lists.
- Distiguinsh the cities a little more: In Morrowind there was a series of pyramids in a lake, houses carved into giant mushrooms, and a city inside a huge, empty crabshell. In oblivion it was just houses in walled cities. Meh.
- Distinguish the look of the spells a bit more.... in the last game all the fireballs looked the same - it'd be nice to have them get bigger/faster as your Destruction skill goes up.
- Someone did a great mod changing the lighting, so all lights have an actual light source, and torches could be extinguished. I like that a lot. Do it that way pls.
- An extra fight move or two wouldn't go amiss.
- Bring back levitation magic! It was well handy.
- Allow more hotkeys in the pc version.
- I'd like a far greater variety of kit; mayhap make some of it randomly generated too, a la badlands, so you don't end up finding the exact same magical shield in different dungeons 5 times.
- When I level up, I want to be able to pwn the easy monsters, not have them all replaced with harder monsters.
- Far, far better voice-acting, pls, and less of it - no people commenting "you look like a really good alchemist" or "you look like you've swung a few maces in your time", and no comments of "what a great deal" ever third time you buy something.
- Mayhap assign a slightly modulated pitch (same voice recording) to each character, so you don't get exact voice-twins speaking to each other.
- Get rid of NPC's having random conversations with each other... it didn't work very well at all.
- Change the 'encumbrance' system so you slow down the more you carry, not just grind to a halt after picking one-too-many strawberries..
- Bring back "throwing stuff" as a skill (knifes, shurikens, rocks, poo etc)
- Bring back moonsugar, and other "outlaw" smuggling goods ;) I do love breaking the law so.
- Make whoever wrote the "Dark Brotherhood" questlines write all the quests, pls! It had the best plotline of all of them.
- Let us enchant our own arrows, or at least buy enchanted arrows more easily. Some of us have got money to spend.
- Let us combine potions/poisons. Pls. You can charge us for it. We don't mind.
- Fix the alchemy system so the weight changes according to the ingredients of each *individual* potion, not the first of that type.
- Bring back gloves! I want the extra enchantments without the magica penalty that armoured gauntlets bring.
- The ability to "hold things in front of you" in oblivion was a bit... well; pointless - unless you were the sort of person who arranges decor in your home. Pls could you make some items explode, or break, or bounce, or fly in the direction you hurled it? That'd be cool.
- More scatology! NPC's should own bedpans, and animal poo should be an ingredient for making poisons.
- Invite the more reputable modders to contribute to the game before release, in exchange for a free copy and free DLC. Heck, maybe even PAY them! They did so much for Oblivion that you can't possibly lose!
Sorry y'all. I'll try and do a proper post soon instead of just listing random crap.

NEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRDDD!
I frikken loooove Elder Scrolls! Agree with all points, and from a girly point of view wish there was more clothing variety...like corsets :p
You should mailz them this list, I'm sure they would take atleast a few points into account. Levitate was awesome :'( and I really enjoyed growing my own mushroom house, that rocked.
Yay! By 2011 I might even have a good enough pc to run it :D
